The Day Someday Became Now

For years, we all said the same thing.

Someday, I'll go.

Someday when I have more time. More money. More courage. Someday when work slows down, when the kids are older, when the world feels less complicated.

We kept a list. Japan in cherry blossom season. A night train through Europe. Waking up somewhere where we didn't know the language for coffee, and figuring it out anyway.

That list kept getting longer. Life kept getting busier.

Âmérrance started this week.

Not with a business plan. With a conversation between friends who were tired of measuring life in someday.

I'm Thomas, and I have travelled extensively. I was never someone who had postponed his first real trip three times but I have known several people who have done this in the past. Around me were the same people you see on our page today being friends, creatives, planners, the overthinkers who turn into overdoers once you give them a map.

We made a promise: What if we stopped waiting for the perfect moment and made the imperfect moment perfect?

That's the whole idea behind Âmérrance. The name comes from that feeling of Âmérrance, when you arrive somewhere and you can't quite believe you're actually there. It's not just wanderlust. It's the moment someday becomes now. Basically - the wandering soul.

This blog, Field Notes, is where we'll document it honestly. Not the highlight reel. The missed buses, the guesthouse that became family, how we actually afford this, how we travel slower and stay longer, and why the first trip is the hardest and the most important.

If you've had a destination sitting in your notes app for two years, this is for you.

This is our invitation. Not to travel like us. To finally travel like you. The philosophy we have here is, that travel, no matter for business or pleasure is opening the soul. The experience no matter how big or small really sets the scene for the next trip.

Someday is a beautiful word. But now is better.

Welcome to Âmérrance.
